Fun with Guns and Stuns

Chapter: Chapter II: Era's Dawn
Location: Red Raptor
Timeline: Day 3

Berry made her usual rounds (it had only been two days) on the ship, skipping along with an amused smile on her face as she stepped in front of all the doors. The ship wasn't too big so she finished pretty fast...but who said she had to do it just only once?? Doors changed, just like people, and maybe some would open when they didn't before!

Her orange tunic flew behind her as she jogged down the hall, stepping in front of a cargo hold door. The door actually opened, and so she scampered inside. Sure, most of the rooms had weird containers, but maybe she could find some treasure!

Sev Rezer, returning from the refresher got in time to see the strange girl entering his improvised workshop. He supressed a grunt and walked over the door to watch what kind of disaster that girl would do. For a moment, he didn't say nothing, just observed her, deciding only to intercede if she started messing around with any of the guns or thermal detonators over the table.

Berry's eyes widened in surprise. What was all this stuff? Where did it all come from?? She hurried to the table and started touching stuff, like that round thing that looks really dangerous. WHOA and a sword!!

"Don't touch that", he warned Berry. "Or you could lose fingers on the blade. It's very sharp".

Berry jumped a little, startled. She grinned over at Eye Guy. "Hi, Mr. Razor! Is this your stuff??" Well, of course it was, he had all the cool stuff. She ran over to the other side of the table, looking but not touching. "Hey do you have lasers???" She stared at his cybernetic eye while she said this.

Sev walked in and approached Berry. "First, my name is not Razor. It's Rezer. It's my Clan name. I don't like when you said it wrong", he said. "Second, I can see you stare my articial eye. It's not..." he grimaced. "It's not polite to stare people. And yes, I have several pistols, rifles and others that fire laser beams." He picked up a hold out pistol. "Do you know how to use a pistol, ad'ika?"

Berry shook her head. "Nah, I leave that to my sniper back home." She smiled amusedly at the man. And since when did anyone like it when someone got their name wrong? Well, she didn't like it when they got her name right...guess she didn't count. "Does this pistol shoot lasers??"

Sev nodded. "Yes, It does. If you don't like to use weapons, how do you defend yourself? Do even know how to fight?", he asked. "Because we're going after some people that will carve you in two if you don't know how to fight."

Berry shrugged as she examined the pistol, turning it around in her hands. "I use my fists and water magic, and if that doesn't work, then it doesn't work." She looked over at him with a smile. "I left home to get stronger, so I'll do my best or die. But Pale Guy is trying to teach me stuff related to water magic...I dunno, I can't stay long because of the crystal." She sighed as she started spinning the weapon around her fingers. Her disappointment at being taught by Thane seemed to outweigh her worry of dying, and soon enough her eyes wandered over to the other unknown objects. "Hey how do I shoot lasers from this? Oh, I bet it'll look cooler if you do it..."

Sev Rezer couldn't say he understood the so called "Force". All he knew that it was powerful resource and anyone that knew how to use was a deadly opponent. That girl, despite all her naivete, had potential to be a strong force user. But, she was also weak. Her mind wondered too far, too fast. And that was death for anyone in a combat. The Mandalorian wondered what Thane was trying to teach her.

Sev took the gun out of her hands. "If you don'...What crystal? What are you talking about? You're not talking about the crystal Axion took from Nar Shaddaa, are you?"

Berry shrugged absently, looking around for something to busy herself with. "Eh, probably. It's very powerful...and very bad." At least, in the hands of that hooded man. She looked over at the Mandalorian, smiling widely. "But you're not bad...not in my dream, anyway. I dunno...I kind of woke up when I ran into the door." She laughed and looked almost proud...with a hint of sheepishness in her smile.

The bounty hunter slowly scratched his head. All that talk about the Force and visions made his stomach ache. The only thing that interested him was seeing Axion dead. The crystal was not his concern. He turned around and opened one of his weapons satchels. "Do you know how to use a stun baton, ad'ika?", he asked, showing her the long baton with an eletric charge. "Since you don't use guns, you can use this. If you hit someone with the tip here, the person will get stunned for a long time."

Berry's dismay at the sight of another stick was tempered by the fact that the stick wouldn't cut off limbs or maybe kill someone. "Umm..." But stun stick looked to close to a light stick! Oh well...she took the stun stick and frowned skeptically at it. 'I gueesss I could use it...." she said slowly.

"Let's see your fighting skills". Sev said, putting up his armor. The baton wouldn't work with him. The armor was totally isolated. "First things first. I'll go towards you and you defend yourself."

Berry quickly snapped oIut of her melancholy at the sight of COOL ARMOR. Oh My Velus he was actually putting it on!! She beamed excitedly at him, missing everything he just said as soon as he touched the stuff.

The armor hissed as it closed down and pressured. He checked to see everything was connected correctly and all the sudden he turned to Berry and advanced in the most common fighting stance for a Mandalorian. He briskly threw his arm trying to grab her. But when his arm finished the movement, she wasn't there anymore.

The part-Aquar yelped as she jumped to the side. "H-hey, what are you doing?? Eye Guuuuy," she whined as she scampered to the other side of the room. "I didn't call you Razor agaaaain!!"

Sev stopped and blinked. She was very fast for a small girl with small feet. "I'm testing your fighting skills. I just said it I would do that", he said, annoyance growing. "Didn't you listen? You were supposed to defend yourself using the stun baton! I'm going again. This time, defend yourself."

She frowned stubbornly at him. "I don't wanna! Why are you fighting me?? Waaah," she cried out as she raised the baton defensively, now backed in a corner.

Rezer's face closed and his voice hardened. "Because you need to. If you don't know how, you'll be hurt and even be killed. We're going after some people that don't care about life and have fun kiling. Your Jedi friends cannot protect you forever. You have to start doing yourself." He advanced.

"I said I don't wanna!" Berry said with a mighty pout, eyes flashing as she parried him...with her arm. The baton fell out of her hands and to the ground as she dove past him, eyes screwed shut as she summoned the most of her water magic to push him aside. Why did she want to fight him anyway?? He wasn't mean to her or anything....well, maybe he was a little now since he was trying to fight her. No, he was testing her...like Grandpa. She stood out of his reach, fists up in front of her as she regarded him curiously, mixed with suspicion.

The Mandalorian turned around, again, impressed by Berry's speed. He had felt some force pushing him away and that had been enough for her to dodge his attack and move away. "Good dogding, ad'ika", he said. "But you can't dodge forever. Sometimes, you just don't have the luxury of escaping from a fight. You have to hit back."

He gave two quick steps and in an instant she was inside his reach. He quickly threw a jab at her. She quickly started to dodge, but he was only distracting her to his real intention: An immobilization made with left arm. He grabbed her left shoulder and spinned her around, making her body twist on itself. When the move was almost finished, he introduced his right leg between her legs and she hit the ground.

"Mister Rezeeeerrr," Berry whined as she made her body limp like a noodle. Her cheek smushed against the gross floor, and she sighed. As soon as he released her she turned her head to look up at him with a pout, brows lowered. "I don't wanna hit you, you have lasers and are cool." She sat up, still pouting to the side.

He offered her his hand. "If you don't want fight me, fine. But, you'll better understand, ad'ika. You'll need to learn to fight and to kill if you want to survive this mission we have. Because if your weakness distract one of us, that would mean death to you and us. And I will not allow that. Do you understand?"

"Yeah, okay," she mumbled. Why would she want to fight here? Waste of energy...and energy came from food, so that's a waste of food!!

Then Berry grinned up at him, taking his hand and standing. She shook it, laughing. "Oh, hey, nice to meet you Sev Rezer. You really care, don't you?" She tilted her head at him, eyes twinkling as her smile was slightly impish. "And anyway, you don't have to worry about me getting you killed. I'm not gonna be here much longer anyway, since that crystal is bad news." She sighed, shaking her head. "So why would I go after it if it means something bad will happen? Nah, I think you guys are fine without me. Also, how do you go to the fresher when you have to wear your armor?"

Sev's expression softened a bit. She didn't seem inclined to follow them, despite her own vision. If he couldn't teach her to defend herself, maybe the Jedi would. "You ask too many questions. And some are better to left without answer. If you're hungry, I'm going to fetch something to eat and I can prepare something extra for you", he said, starting to leave the room. "Are you coming?"

"Am I??!!" Berry exclaimed before running out past him, laughing amusedly. See? Mr. Rezer could be nice, even if he could be mean. Wait, what? Well, he was nice now. "YES, I'm hungry!!" She grinned back at him and glanced at his armor. Yeah, there probably was a part where you could take off the butt. She was confident he was so cool that that he would have thought of everything.
