Chapter: Chapter III: Relics
Location: Red Raptor
Timeline: 1200 Hours, Day Eight

Today Berry wasn't as forgetful as she used to be, maybe because she had a mission. Pale Guy gave some good advice, too bad he didn't take hers about the sun but oh well. She scampered down the middle hall and started knocking loudly on a door. "Hey!" She continued knocking and then remembered Boomy's room was in a corner. Not her corner...or Kipster's corner...or Shady lady's...well only one corner left! She rushed to it and started knocking again.

The loud knocking continued for several moments before the door swung open and a wide-eyed Ithorian stood before the young woman, "You really know how to disturb the peace, don't you?" he exhaled loudly, when he saw who was at the door, "You need to put all that energy to good use. Perhaps that's why you're here?"

Berry blinked and looked up at the super tall Tall Guy (or was it Tree Guy)? "Huh?" She smiled anyway, it was so cool to hear his vibrations in her chest. "Um, yeah, not really. I just wanted to say sorry."

Bomoor's demeanour softened, "What do you need to be sorry for?" he questioned.

Her head tilted at him. "Well, y'know, for making you mad. At the races." She smiled to the side, a smile tinged with just a liiiittle bit of sheepishness. "I didn't know you were gonna get so worked up about it....but with a friend like Thrane buddy there..." She gave him a sympathetic look. "....Yeah."

"Oh, I see..." Bomoor began, he had become quite worked up at the races. He probably should not have left her there alone, "I just didn't like to see you mixed up on those shady dealings. It upsets me that the sport is plagued by such fraudulence and I'm afraid it rather upset me. But I don't want that to sour our relationship."

The Ithorian stepped outside and shut the door. He put an arm on Berry's back, "Come, why don't we go to the Recreation Room. Perhaps we can talk a bit more there. You may even find something to eat while we're at it."

Berry chuckled. "That'd be nice...but I better not eat too much or I'll get sleepy. And I can't be sleepy if I'm gonna learn stuff...I'd forget stuff faster..." As they walked she wondered how fast it would take her to climb a tree as tall as Boomy.

The pair made their way out of the dormitory corridor and into the Rec Room. It was presently deserted, only the lingering smell of Kip's fragrant cooking wafting from the kitchen area. As Berry rushed in, Bomoor wandered over and opened the lid of a simmering pot. He recoiled slightly as the smell of stewing meat hit his airway, "Looks like some kind of meat stew," Bomoor nodded towards the pot, giving it another cautious sniff, "Seems a bit spicy. Grab a dish of it is you want and we can have a chat at the table."

Berry nodded excitedly and quickly got herself a bowl of some awesome stuff. She put the bowl down on the table and then scampered back to the kitchen for a spoon....then repeated the action for a second bowl. Her butt finally touched the chair as she sat down and started spooning yummies into her mouth, eyes wide as she gazed at the Ithorigan.

Bomoor sat down opposite Berry and gave a sigh, "So you've come around to learning about the Force. What is it you call it? Water Power? Well there's a lot to learn about it but I know you have a talent already. You just need to focus and channel the Force with your will and not with your emotion."

Berry frowned thoughtfully as some of the stew dribbled down her chin. She quickly licked it up and pointed a spoon at Boomy. "Y'know, that'd be really useful because sometimes I'm too lazy to feel excited or scared and that'd be nice to use water magic when I'm just normal." She nodded and continued eating.

Bomoor raised an eye at Berry's remark, "We do not train so we can be lazy, Bería. In fact, to be in control can often require much greater concentration and dedication."

He noticed the displeased look on the young Force-user's face, "I only tell you this because the feelings you wield can take you down the wrong path. There is a place for the emotions that drive us in the right direction - compassion, trust, vigilance. I'm just saying that you must realise when your emotions are controlling you and not you controlling them."

Bomoor reached out and lifted the spoon Berry had retrieved into the air, "Once you understand this, you can use the Force when you want and, even though it requires work, it can make your life easier in other ways."

He moved the spoon over slightly and then plopped it into the bowl of stew. Splattering a small amount over the table and Bería. Bomoor suppressed a chuckle, "I am sorry about that," he hummed, "But you see what you can achieve if you have focus."

Berry giggled, smiling amusedly as she lifted her arm and licked some stew off of it. Mmm, yummy. "Yeah, focus." She leaned over and licked the stew off the table, looking up at Boomy anyway. It made her eyes boggle out a bit. "Sooo...I should control my emotions instead of them controlling me." She sat up straight again and licked the remaining stew off her lips. "What do I do?"

"Well, any Force ability is a manipulation of the Living Force, which exists all around us and even within us," Bomoor spoke, standing up as he did so, "In order to have an effect on the Living Force, you must become aware of it. When you do that, the world around you becomes like an extension of your own being. That is when you can move objects, adjust the elements and affect other beings just through sheer force of will."

He walked over to the recreation area and sat his hulking frame carefully upon the floor, which was a slightly softer padded floor than the cold metal of the dining area. He beckoned Berry over by padding the floor beside him, "Come, I would like you to try some meditation with me. It is not the most interesting thing, I know, but you may just be able to sense that deep connection while in a state of relaxation."

Berry raised an eyebrow before slowly dropping her spoon and hesitantly getting off the bench. Meditation...didn't Ramsay tried to get her to do that? To strengthen her water magic...but...they had limits. Which was why she was here. She smiled over at Boomy and plopped down beside him. "Okay, but I'm gonna warn you I sometimes fall asleep when I meditate." She glanced fondly over shoulder at the bowl of soup she left behind. "And especially after I eat..."

Bomoor chuckled as he remembered his earliest years with the Jedi. Images of younglings nodding off during meditation sessions, leading to a scorning from the teacher present, "That is common," Bomoor reassured the part-Aquar, "Given how meditation rests upon the brink of consciousness. You shut yourself off to the world and open yourself up to the deeper sensations. If you start to sleep, then you've just gone a bit too far."

Berry grinned. "Yeah, I guess." She closed her eyes, peeking at Boomy to copy what he did. Well, she would arch her neck in that manner if she had a long enough neck. Oh well.

The pair sat together for a while. Bomoor sensed Berry fidgeting a bit at first but she eventually settled down with her legs crossed. As Bomoor sunk from the world, he was left only with the awareness of those nearby - he could feel the adolescent beside him. Her aura was strong - her affinity to the Force was all the more clear to him now while in this state. It almost drowned out his awareness of the others aboard the ship. He could still sense the dark sensations of the holocron from Thane's room. Thane himself gave out a strong aura similar to his own, it had been noted in the past, which seemed to tally with their similar Midi-chlorian count. It made it all the more simple for Bomoor to sense his presence.

Berry smiled faintly to herself as she started to become the water around her. It wasn't that much different than it usually was...maybe less murky. And she could hear things better now, too...like Boomy by her, being all tree-like. Or...that corner of dark water over there. She frowned slightly, but the frown slowly turned up as she felt the warmth from her abandoned bowl of soup. What if she wanted to eat some as a snack in between meditation? Ah, it would be nice for it to be by her...

She had water surround the bowl and slowly brought over to her. It teetered a bit, moving with a wobble, and stuff splashed out. Berry smiled to herself. This wasn't real, anyway...but if it was she'd lick the soup right up!

Bomoor was suddenly drawn out of his trance as he felt a scalding liquid splash upon his legs. He exclaimed loudly and stood up in time to see Berry's bowl of stew fall to the ground beside him. He looked at her but she seemed to have only come back herself.

"Berry?" he questioned, "What were you visualising just now?"

She tilted her head, frowning slightly in thought. "Um...water everywhere...and...my stew!" She pointed at the bowl by them. "Aw..." So much spilled out...what a waste.

The Ithorian made and amused rumble as he tries to wipe stew off his civilian trousers, "Looks like you are certainly already able to see the Force and manipulate it as I was saying. Although, I'm not sure whether thinking with your stomach is any better than thinking with your emotions."

He picked up the bowl, "Rather impressive though. You didn't seem to take any effort at all. I think we should work on your awareness to the Force so you can then reach out when you want. But perhaps another time as you clearly need more stew and I need to get cleaned up."

Berry nodded, giggling a little as she stood. "Yeah...sorrryyy..." Although her smile had more amusement than sheepishness. She scooped up the bowl from the ground and scampered to the table. Picking up her spoon, she waved it at the Jedi. "Thanks, Bomoor! We should do this again." Then she continued eating, a small happy smile on her face.
