OLD

It was only a few short images that flooded his mind momentarily, but he saw this being - clearly a source of dread - holding a datapad. Something obscured his eyes, but he knew already from where this thing came: Velusia... and so knew that it was Bería now in trouble.

"They need our help!" He stated to Kip and Sev, not waiting around to explain himself to two men he knew wished him dead before he launched himself out of the room, and back towards the way he believed they had come, that peculiar mist engulfing him and leaving the mismatched pair together alone, the sound of Thane's footfalls becoming more and more distant.

"Thane, wait...!", Sev said. "Krif! We can't go running around in the dark!", the Mandalorian said, pacing around him. He forgot Kip totally as he briskly followed Thane, leaving the Flamewalker alone in the shadows.

Sev Rezer tried to follow Thane's steps, but the Jedi moved fast, using the force. As soon the Jedi turned in to a corner, the purplish glow of his lightsaber disappeared completely. The mandalorian reached that corner and there was nothing there. It was, in fact, a dead end. He turned around, bemused. I didn't take my eyes from the light. He turned here, I'm sure. What in the Sith is going here?

He felt that strange feeling in his head again. He felt lightheaded and yet focused. He looked to the place he had came from and Kip didn't appear behind him. Figures. There's no loyalty with Flamewalkers.

"Ah, but with you, Sev Rezer, there's plenty of loyalty, isn't it", came a very family voice echoing from somewhere in the room.

The mandalorian became alarmed. That voice wasn't real. It couldn't. It belonged to a dead man. "You're not here. You're dead", he said in a low tone.

"Really? Did you saw my body? Or were you so convinced that you had killed me that you didn't check? You wouldn't accept your mandalorian skill had failed to kill me. But, what one could expect from a Dar'manda?", the voice spoke again, this time coming from even closer.

Sev Rezer couldn't believe. He took the helmet off and dropped on the floor near his right foot. "You can't be here, Teevo Kavdo! Your body disappeared like any other Jedi Master when it dies! It's this place. Its playing tricks with my mind."

"This is no trick, Rezer", came the voice, now behind him.

The bounty hunter turned around and he was suprised to see Rodian Jedi Master Teevo Kavdo looking back to him. But he wasn't hale. He was covered with terrible burn scars and laser fire. His robe was torn and burned in several places. "I have been waiting for you, in fact. I survived because the Dark Side accepted me and I accepted it back."

"Revenge? Well, you're not the first to try, Rodian", Sev said. "Do your worst", he added, bringing his rifle up.

"Ah, violence. Typical attitude of a Dar'manda", replied Kavdo. "You misunderstand, of course. I don't want to fight you anymore. How can I fight someone that has no soul? That lost contact with its own people. That is less than person? No. Fighting you would be giving more worth to you than you actually has."

Sev's face lost any expression as he paled. "You don't know what... You're not Mando'ad. If you speak again about these matters I'll kill you regardless."

The Rodian laughed out loud. "You may kill me, but you can't kill the truth, Rezer. I know all about you. You must think your revenge fullfilled you, but it made you hollow. If you look within, you'll see that death its the only thing you can offer those around you. Those you hate live and those you love die. That's the path of a Dar'manda, is not?"

"I AM NOT DAR'MANDA!", roared Sev. "I have returned to the path! You have no right to judge me! You killed my mother! You destroyed my clan!" The mandalorian's face was now covered in sweat. He gave several steps towards the Rodian and grabbed the Jedi by the lapel. "For the longest time I thought I had lost everything. I thought what you said it was true. I know its not. I feel my soul. I AM Mando'ad! And its not going to be an illusion of my old sins that wil made doubt myself."

"Too late, you're already doubting yourself", said the Rodian giving Sev an evil grin.

Sev shook his head strongly and the Rodian's grin became uncertain. "I feel your touch in my mind, creature", barked him. "I may not be force sensitive, but I know when someone its trying to access my mind", Sev said, his voice growing strong. "All you have done its enraged me, creature. Leave now."

"You are already mine, Mandalorian", spoke the Rodian, but there was another voice running behind it, like a whisper.

"LEAVE NOW!", Sev Rezer roaread again, shutting his eyes, trying to force the creature out of his head.

Without reason and explanation, he felt warm wave go through his body. In fact, the wave seemed to go the room too.

He opened his eyes and he realized was alone again. That illusion was gone. It had almost broke him. But it had been the belief in himself that had made him support that attack. It was the belief that no matter what else he was called, he was a mandalorian and that was all that mattered.

Grabbing his helmet from the floor, Sev could hear voices ahead.

Where are you guys?”

The Gir!l Whatever had happened, he felt his mind was clearer and the way was now too. With his steps more firm than before, Sev ran towards the sounds.
