GalactaWerks Corporation (GWC)
GalactaWerks.png
Role: Umbrella Corporation
Governing Body: Unknown CEO; The Board
Location(s): Coruscant, numerous others
Description: Formed from a merger of several companies during the dark age that followed the New Mandalorian Crusades, including Czerka Arms and Baktoid Armour, GalactaWerks was crucial to the establishment of the Third Galactic Republic and has been a major figure in most Republic activities for the past one thousand years, growing to be larger and more powerful than any other mercantile organisation in the galaxy.

With interests ranging from arms manufacturing, shipbuilding, and droid construction, GWC enjoys an uncomfortably close relationship with the Republic government, especially their biggest patron: Supreme Chancellor Paralles. Despite Paralles' own image as a kindly, if ineffective, leader, GalactaWerks is viewed as amoral, avaricious and invasive - and dangerously powerful.

Integral to the Third Republic's infrastructure and with business interests scattered throughout the galaxy, the oft-hated GWC has involved itself on every level of civilisation, earning it the ire of the twice-rebellious Outer Rim Alliance. Cited as the cause of the two Outer Rim Conflicts, GalactaWerks is despised by many, seen as a colonial-political entity that even has its own paramilitary force - the GalactaWerks Marines - through which it serves as the Republic's de facto standing army.
Cybot Galactica

Role: Droid Manufacturer
Governing Body: CEO Mrax Thinndar
Location(s): Etti IV
Description: One of the "ancient" corporations of the galaxy, Cybot Galactica actually fragmented during the New Mandalorian Crusades (often referred to as the "Galactic Dark Age"), only being reformed following the advent of the Third Galactic Republic by a handful of talented technicians and scattered corporate dynasties. With support from the investments made commonplace by the Grand Proclamation, these enterprising figures re-established Cybot Galactica using the old framework and the public fondness that remained for the majority of their products, which has thus far saved them from any mergers with GalactaWerks.
Nubia Autostar (see: Industrial Automaton/Nubia Star Drives)
499?cb=20080311185708
Role: Droid/Starship Manufacturer
Governing Body: President Kal'ua
Location(s): Nubia
Description: A merger of Nubia's two premier corporations, Industrial Automaton and Nubia Star Drives, Nubia Autostar still operates both companies independently of one another, with the former providing some of the highest-quality astromech droids on the market, whilst still developing some of the most popular top-credit cruise vessels through Nubia Star Drives. Its popular astrodroids and unique starship design has kept it from the clutches of GalactaWerks, but there have been several blocked attempts at discrete acquisition.
Arakyd Technics
latest?cb=20080311181454
Role: Military Equipment Trader
Governing Body: CEO Monika Mink
Location(s): Coruscant
Description: A small company formed from Arakyd Industries, Arakyd limits itself in the modern era to sensory and military intelligence equipment in all of its forms, whether it be probe droids, surveillance equipment or specialised weaponry. Surviving courtesy of an exclusive contract with the Third Republic, Arakyd is almost a nationalised company that does not frequently sell to the wider public, although they have a few choice models they do sell.
Santhe/Sienar Futures
500?cb=20080322014534
Role: Starship Developer
Governing Body: Unknown
Location(s): Unknown; Bastion space
Description: A corporation that survived the ages thanks to a lucrative contract with Emperor Palpatine's First Galactic Empire, Santhe/Sienar disappeared from the public eye as the Bastion Moffs withdrew their own presence from galactic affairs. However, several Santhe/Sienar-style designs have been witnessed around Bastion space, and numerous Mandalorians cite seeing new TIE fighter designs, Star Destroyers and weaponry during their skirmishes with the Imperial State.
Wrightsguild
rogue-one-logo.png
Role: Commerce Guild/Starship Designers
Governing Body: Guild Council
Location(s): Corellia, numerous others
Description: Formed in the Dark Age as a means to survive the Mandalorian onslaught and post-war political confusion, the Wrightsguild is a loose coalition of numerous high profile shipbuilders offering a range of services, either under the umbrella term of "Wrightsguild" or their own specific corporate titles, with a share of the profits being spread across the Guild to support the various organisations in their endeavours. They move beyond political affiliations as a whole, but individual entities might find themselves subject to sanctions or loyal to particular political groups.
Verpine Spaceworks
logo-33.png
Role: Starship Developer
Governing Body: Verpine Nest
Location(s): Roche, numerous others
Description: A conglomeration of Verpine ship designers and builders, they hold no great allegiance to any organisation and are meticulous in their works. Having resisted joining the Wrightsguild or any other corporate merger, Verpine Spaceworks markets itself effectively and has a dedicated market, often competing directly with GalactaWerks. Verpine was notable for ignoring Third Republic sanctions by supplying the Outer Rim Alliance during the recent conflict.
