SUMMARY

The First Outer Rim Conflict ended in decisive military defeat for the Outer Rim Alliance. Republic forces, operating in close coordination with GalactaWerks and relying heavily upon the GalactaWerks Marines as their principal expeditionary arm, systematically dismantled the Alliance’s military infrastructure. Planetary militias were broken in detail, hyperspace choke-points were seized, and Alliance leadership was either captured, killed, or forced into exile. By 992 ABY, the ORA as a sovereign political entity had ceased to exist.

However, while the Alliance was destroyed in law and arms, its underlying grievances were not extinguished. In the aftermath of the war, GalactaWerks spearheaded a series of prolonged Repatriation Campaigns, aimed at reintegrating former Alliance worlds into the Republic through a combination of security operations, economic restructuring, and corporate governance. These campaigns restored order and commerce, but at the cost of deepening resentment among local populations, who increasingly viewed GalactaWerks not as a stabilising force, but as a colonial power acting behind the Republic’s authority.

Though open rebellion was suppressed, the ideals of the Outer Rim Alliance endured. Networks of sympathisers, veterans, and disaffected worlds preserved the notion that the Rim could stand apart from the Core’s political and corporate dominance. Over the following two centuries, these unresolved tensions hardened rather than faded, laying the ideological and material foundations for a far broader and more devastating confrontation: the Second Outer Rim Conflict.
