BOMOOR’S JOURNAL

FIRST ENTRY

So much has happened in the last week or so that I have not had time to sit down since this all began. I find myself now in the company of the strangest band of people - we all have a common goal, hunting down the dark Jedi Axion but I find myself conflicted on this task. The Force is clearly pulling me towards this. Ever since Thane’s shared vision with the young girl we met on Nar Shaddaa, Beríá, things have been pulling us all together and onto this ship – The Red Raptor we all now call “home”. It is a respite of sorts but certainly nothing I would ever choose for myself.

Regardless, I have been wanting to get my thoughts on paper as we begin this journey together. I cannot hide the fact that I am somewhat excited to break free of the council and see new places and it has made me think about some of the many things I have read about in the archives. While I know we shall be hunting down Axion and the Kaiburr Shards, I am hopeful for the future that I shall someday be able to indulge my curiosity for the many worlds and all the life they hold. I want to note down some of my research in the hope that I may one day explore them for myself.

One of the frequently mentioned planets in the Jedi archives is Tython – the homeworld of the Jedi. While it is an amazing historical centre as the apparent “Birthplace of the Force” (or more accurately “Birthplace of the Jedi Order”), I am more interested in the connections it holds to the living Force – the intelligent adaptability and will of the universe itself. I cannot imagine why the Jedi would abandon such a great centre of Force connection. Perhaps the Jedi really have forgotten what makes a Jedi a Jedi.

The planet itself is said to be able to alter the environment through the Force. Great Force Storms and Force-attuned creatures are just a two of the wonders Tython must have to offer. Very early recordings of the original Force-users, the Je’daii, stated that Tython is a planet in perfect Force balance – neither dark nor light. Whether this was a result of a natural neutrality in the Force itself on the planet or merely a symbolic statement based on Tython’s two moons being perfect opposites (one forever dark and one brilliantly light), it has not been said but such a place would be amazing to view first hand.

The planet has faced many extremes in its history at the hands of Force-users. Since the neutral Je’daii left and developed into the Jedi Order (as well as splintering into the Dark Jedi and the Sith Lords), the planet has been colonised by members of both the dark and the light. The Jedi retreated there at the start of the Cold War but abandoned it not long after only to find it occupied by a Sith sorcerer, who summoned dark beasts to the planet. Many others have attempted to settle there but all have left – I can only assume that is still the case. It cannot seem to sustain dark or light for very long despite the great tie to an untainted Force it houses. Perhaps the original settlers were more correct with their belief in adhering to the neutral Force. Could the planet itself (or perhaps the Living Force) shun away those who cannot bring the Force into balance?

Either way, it would be fascinating to see the planet – to learn where the first Force-Users came from and to study the complexity of the Force acting on the planet. Can it have truly stayed uncorrupted after all these years or has it suffered under the cruelties of time and occupation as so many other planets have?
