Summary
The Tempest is an experimental TIE/00-series prototype developed by Santhe/Sienar Futures for the Bastion Moff Empire. Designed to support long-range operations both within and without Imperium-controlled space, the vessel represents a departure from traditional TIE doctrine, combining advanced hyperdrive technology, shielding, sensor-dampening systems and extended life-support facilities within a compact and highly versatile hull.
Unlike the mass-produced starfighters from which it draws its heritage, only a small number of TIE/00 prototypes are believed to exist. Each vessel was intended to fulfil a specialised role, with the Tempest configured as a long-range transport and mobile command vessel capable of supporting small teams on independent assignments for extended periods of time.
Following a successful series of trials within Bastion space, the vessel was personally assigned to Darth Serus by Grand Moff Tarses. Intended to provide a reliable transport for missions that would take its occupants far from established Imperial infrastructure, the ship was equipped with a secure communications suite, medical facilities, armoury, detention vault and advanced navigation systems.
Though modest in size, the Tempest possesses capabilities uncommon among vessels of its class. As testing of the TIE/00 programme continues, operational reports gathered by Darth Serus and the crew of the Tempest are expected to influence the future development of long-range special operations craft within the Bastion Moff Empire.
