725 words; about a 4 minute read

Amare,

If you sense these words in your mind, it is not by means of possession as was the case of the malevolent shade known to you as Shadrak that haunted you for years, but rather through our connection made possible by the Annulus. When you bonded with it on Lorrd, the Annulus imbued you with the surviving recorded Sith knowledge I had always intended for my successor to inherit. It is this millennia-old knowledge of which you feel at this moment. I suspect the passage of time was not kind to that old artifact, and some of which I intended to pass on may forever be lost...unless, of course, you find a way to repair it. You may also uncover other sources of Force knowledge that may prove useful in helping to fill the gaps. As you grow and evolve, more of my remaining wisdom shall be revealed to you. I urge you to heed what remains of these words with the utmost devotion, commit them to memory and parchment, and use what you learn to achieve ever greater power.

You are a novice Sith Apprentice now. You have survived my tests, and you go forth to rejoin your master. As you press forward through the shadows of Korriban, understand this: you have been and shall remain a slave for the foreseeable future. There is no shame in this. We are all enslaved to something from birth until death. Consider the Jedi: they are enslaved to the Force, to their compassion, and to the Republic. Likewise, all Sith are enslaved to the Force as well, but even moreso bound to their never-ending thirst for power and control of the Force. Such single-minded desire is a cruel entrapment built by their egos, and amplified by the dark side of the Force.

The saving grace of our kind is that we strive for a state of being that grants us mastery over all others. However, I warn you that to crave power alone is folly; you must go beyond such base temptation. A true Sith is one willing to take the risks to explore the possibilities of existence. Murder, mayhem, and control of the material is for simpletons; any Sith can swing a lightsaber and fell dozens while cackling with homicidal glee. You, as heir to my enlightened legacy, and trustee of the teachings of your Sith master, must strive for nothing less than absolute supremacy over life, death, space, and time itself. That is true mastery. That is the ultimate goal of an archon...of one worthy to rule not merely for a lifetime, but for all eternity.

To become a master is to set oneself free from all the chains of slavery. Ergo, the Sith Code rings true, but do not limit yourself to its words lest the Code enslaves you as it has countless adherents to the dark side. You must accept that mastery will take a long time to claim, and nothing less than extreme efforts of body, mind, and soul will be required to free yourself of your humble status as an apprentice. There will be pain, there will be despair, and there will be considerable sacrifices made along the way. Steel yourself with cunning, embrace wisdom in all its forms, and suitably endow yourself with the power necessary to overcome all that stands in your way.

Failure is never an option.

The evolution of apprenticeship to mastery demands the willingness to wage nine wars within oneself:

I: Action
II: Passion
III: Trust
IV: Duty
V: Submission
VI: Choice
VII: Struggle
VIII: Truth
IX: ??

Prepare yourself, young Amare. The first war may come upon you sooner than you might think.

Remember your primary duty as an apprentice to a Sith Lord: Always proceed as if limits to your abilities do not exist. Belief is everything when wielding the Force. Believe in it without doubt, and, most importantly, believe in yourself. If your faith wavers in the heat of battle, even for a second, you are doomed, your master may fall with you, and the Sith may be lost for thousands more years, if not forever. Without the Sith, the corruption of the Republic will endure, and trillions will suffer as you have, and worse.

Do not hesitate. Do not relent. Go forth and restore the Sith to power and glory!
