History Kelderesh was raised as part of a radical spiritualist community within the Kaleesh people, known as the Malshawa Suflaa (or Nether Walkers). His people chose to live in camps built around the colossal ancient tombs found on their home world. They believed that, by being so close to monuments of death, they were closest to the gods themselves and performed various blood-rituals in order to ascend to godhood themselves when they died.

After the great decimation of the Kaleesh people during the Huk War, shortly before the Battle of Yavin, and the subsequent reliance on outside help to rebuild their world, such blood-rituals were outlawed and those who practised it were seen as vile necromancers. Encampments of the Malshawa suflaa were frequently driven away from the sacred tombs so such groups were nomadic, not calling any one location their home, but always sleeping close to the dead.

Kelderesh never knew his parents; his mother had been sacrificed in a ritual on the day of his birth and his father was killed attempting to resist the Kaleesh Warriors of Justice, who were attempting to move on the tribe as they so often did. However, he was cared for by others in the community, particularly after it was discovered that he had an affinity for the Force: an ability that heralded an even closer connection to the realm of the dead.

The young Kaleesh participated in blood rituals from a young age and, when only nine years of age, he was sealed in one of the great tombs, where he fought and killed another young Force-sensitive member of the community and devoured his heart before the elders released him. It was after this day, that Kelderesh dedicated much of his time to journey deep into the ancient tombs, hoping to see the gods he aspired to.

Eventually, his community found themselves settling at one of the largest burial sites: the Mulium Kharif, a Mega-Tomb that stretched high into the sky as well as deep underground. On one fateful day, Kelderesh set out on an expedition deep within the tomb and, after what seemed like a lifetime, he came across the great burial chamber of an ancient dark-side Force-warrior. It was here that he encountered an apparition of the long-dead warrior that was drawn out by Kelderesh's deep connection to the Force.

Kelderesh had finally met one of the gods he sought, but was surprised to find that the entity chastised him for his barbaric way of living. He argued that their culture had grown weak and fearful, offering sacrifices to the dead, rather than striking opportunity among the living. Cutting the flesh and draining blood were not traits of the warrior and so he convinced the young Force-sensitive that his entire people deserved to die for their weakness and that he must become powerful enough to do this.

For many months, Kelderesh was tutored by the apparition on dark-side magics and techniques, all the while his community resided at the Mulium Kharif. One day, they finally saw him emerge, his whole body glowing with a deathly aura. They assumed he had passed on and become a god among them and so the whole community rushed to his side. However, Kelderesh channelled the teachings of the apparition and began draining the essence of his fellows. When they began to flee, he willed the ground to crack and swallow the people, sending them deep into the depths of
Mulium Kharif. When he had finally killed every single member, he left that place, vowing that death would never have any sway over him.

Therefore, he sought out that which he needed to become strong and crush all those who showed an inability to carve their own place in the living world. It was through his travels off-world that he heard word of the Cult of Axion and the power that they were collating through the Kaiburr shards. When he finally found them, he had no hesitation in pledging himself to Axion. While he had learned much from the dark-side spirit, he far preferred pledging himself to a man of flesh and blood; a man who sought to become a god in this life, rather than the next.
